Outdoor

We like to work hard and then play hard – often outside. In York County alone, you can hike, bike, kayak and canoe, camp, fish, and horseback ride, and more at over 200 local, state, and county parks, such as Codorus State Park, Gifford Pinchot State Park, and the Susquehanna Riverlands. Our nationally recognized Rail Trail, the Susquehanna River, and numerous lakes and streams offer an abundance of activities. YoCo is home to over 20 golf courses for those ready to hit the greens. And for the ultimate adventure seekers, Roundtop Mountain Resort offers skiing, snow tubing, and year-round fun from zip-lining to paintball.

Want to explore some of our county parks?

A great way to learn more about all 11 of our parks covering over 4,300 acres is to check out the York County Park & Recreation page. The York County Parks Department helps to maintain and develop park land which includes activities for relaxation, sports, environmental education, history, wilderness, or recreation. A map of all the parks can be found here.

For other sports and recreation adventures, Explore York has put together a directory of the best golf courses, places for water activities, and boat rides here.
