York County Trail Towns
Our trail towns leverage the York Heritage Rail Trail as a platform and driver for economic development in towns located along or near the popular multi-use trail. While venturing through the more than 21 miles of the Rail Trail, you’ll have the opportunity to stop in small towns to grab a tasty bite to eat, pump up a flat bike tire, or sip on a local libation.
Comprising of 7 unique small towns, our trail towns offer something for everyone.
Looking for something fun and unique to do? Visit Hanover and step in and tour the factory that makes crisp, salty potato chips at Utz Factory. After getting your snack fix, head over to one of the many restaurants to enjoy a beverage or full meal.
Or head to New Freedom and enjoy a refreshing beverage at Vortex Brewing before jumping on their historic train to Railroad, where you’ll find even more small businesses to visit.
Wrightsville offers beautiful views of the Susquehanna River and the opportunity to enjoy your favorite water sport on the river. After a day on the water, head into town for a bite to eat and visit some shops.
And our historic Downtown York is part of the rail trail and includes many retail shops, businesses, and restaurants to fill your whole day.
